Vacation Bible School

Monday, June 21 to Thursday, June 24

Great job kids! Our group of about 20 kids raised almost $400 in two days to purchase craft kits, legos and school supplies for the kids of Mellier Methodist School in Haiti. School is currently meeting in a UNICEF Tent and under a Mango Tree until the old school can be deconstructed and a new one built. The week following VBS, our pastor took a large duffle of gifts to distribute to the Mellier School kids. Watch the video to see God reaching out across the ocean through the body of Christ.

The leader of our Haiti UMCOR/PIM mission team was Gil Hanke, a strong lay leader and member of Perritte Memorial UMC in Nacogdoches. Gil has recently moved to Nashville, TN and is serving as the CEO of the United Methodist Men. He wrote a great article about our experience at www.gcumm.org.
